Full Time - Fixed Term Contract till 28th December 2018

This position is based in the Shire of Wentworth.

Services are delivered in the Mallee and across the river into far west NSW. 


A key aspect to this position is through flexible Case work, Home Visiting and Community Engagement that assist children and families but the role additionally will also be responsible for overseeing and coordinating a range of activities across the Indigenous Advancement Strategy programmes and other local community engagement initiatives that meet the needs of the local community.

The Community Engagement team comprises of the following key program areas:

  • Indigenous Advancement Strategy – Children and Schooling
  • Indigenous Advancement Strategy – Safety and Wellbeing
  • Safe Aboriginal Youth
  • Wemburra Tulkalana
  • Homes Out West Tenancy Management
  • Tenant Support & Education Project

To support the work of the Community Engagement team in Wentworth.
This will be achieved through:

  • Providing administrative and project support for the community engagement team.
  • Providing a welcoming environment and support for those who need it at out Wentworth office.
  • Giving assistance, advice, information and referral or other practical supports to those who need it.
  • Collecting data on the assistance and outcomes of the community engagement team.
  • Assisting the Community engagement team with Case work.
  • Providing project support across our range of projects delivered in Wentworth.

The successful applicant will be required to manage a caseload under the supervision of a Caseworker and previous relevant experience in the field, and will be required to hold an accredited qualification relevant to the position at Certificate level or above.
