Full Time - Fixed Term Contract till 30th June 2019

This position is based in Swan Hill but regular travel to Robinvale and other outlaying towns is required.

Communities for Children is a community driven project that aims to ensure children have the best start in life focusing on prevention and early intervention approaches that bring about positive family functioning, safety and child development outcomes for children and their families. Mallee Family Care as the CfC facilitating partner for the project in the Swan Hill Rural City Council LGA facilitates a whole of community approach to support and strength local service networks that contribute to child safety. The position has leadership responsibility to oversee the implementation and further development of the project, manage project staff and active engage with the network of citizens, families and services that collectively design and deliver the project.

The Senior Project Worker will;

  • ensure that the community are active and engaged
  • that data against agreed indicators is being collected and shared and
  • that the Executive Committee has the information it needs to make to leverage funding, activities and community assets to deliver the CfC community strategies.

The successful applicant will be required to hold a qualification at Degree level or above and extensive experience in working with children 0-12 years and their families, with an understanding of parenting education strategies and experience in working with vulnerable children and families with complex needs.
